Parking for Beach Access
- Dunewood is a Private Property Owners Association with private access to Lake Michigan for the exclusive use of Dunewood resident owners & their guests. When parked at or anywhere near our beach easements, display the dated, color-coded Dunewood tag and/or sticker you were supplied with. Cars not displaying either, will be towed at the owner's expense. If you find your car has been towed, call Jeff's Towing at 269-465-6142 for further information.
Beach Boundaries
- When visiting our private beaches, please respect the property lines and stay within the association's beach boundaries. (Owners' tip: print out a map from our private pages to leave for your guests!)
- Please only use the association's shared public beach easements. All other access points or parking areas are private to the homes they are adjacent to.
Beach Safety
Campfires
- Beach campfires are permitted but only when a safe distance from dune grass and boats, and when wind conditions safely permit. (The same goes for fireworks. If visiting during the 4th of July, please consult the Dunewood Property owner you are visiting for the most up-to-date conditions and allowances).
- Please place campfires closer to the water than the dune.
- DON'T use sand to extinguish a campfire, under sand the fire smolders and can be stepped on! Please make sure your fire is fully extinguished before leaving the beach.
Driving/Walking Our Roads
- Pedestrians, joggers, strollers, pets, wildlife, and cars all share the same wooded, winding roads. Our speed limit is 15 mph.
- Pro tip for walkers & runners: use the side against traffic.
Protecting our Woodlands
- Please don't pick or transplant wildflowers.
- If you can, please remove debris from covered sewer drains should you notice they're covered when you pass, thank you!
- Make sure to secure all trash can lids tightly against woodland creatures and don't leave any garbage in plastic bags outside of a secure container.
Dogs
- Please consider keeping your dog on a leash if you sense it is bothering people.
